The image of the slanting sun, whether at morning or evening, reminds us of the range of emotions we feel whenever we see the familiar in a different light, suddenly becoming aware of the depth and weight of what it means to be human and alive and awake to whatever meaning may be hidden by the glare of the noon-day sun, or the flat light of an overcast day.
